How to Place Materials on Reserve
|
|
|
| For all Materials:
Please bring a copy of your course syllabus with you when you come to place materials on reserve. We need the course name, course number, and department code in order to index the reserve material.
Please submit materials at least three days before students will be requesting them.
Reserve procedures are governed by the Wheaton College Copyright Guide.

| Books:
Please bring the books to the Buswell Library reserve desk (next to the circulation desk) and fill out one "For Reserve Desk & Electronic Reserve" slip for each course or stack of books. In addition to library-owned items, can you also give us your own books. Be sure that your books have your name inside so that they can be returned to you afterward.
We normally do not put on reserve Buswell reference books, bound journal volumes, or books owned by other libraries. To request an exemption to this policy, please speak to Gregory Morrison, Head of Reference, x5847, Reference@wheaton.edu.

| Articles:
Please bring one photocopy of each article to the Buswell Library reserve desk (next to the circulation desk) and fill out one "For Reserve Desk & Electronic Reserve" slip for each course. If your class has forty or more students, you may submit up to two additional copies. Be sure that all articles submitted contain a complete bibliographic citation (author, title of article, title of journal, volume, number/issue, year, page numbers).
In addition to the paper copy on file at the reserve desk, all articles will be scanned and made available through the library’s electronic-reserve system at http://reserves.wheaton.edu. This will enable your students to read and download these articles from the library’s website.
If you are re-using an article that you placed on reserve in the past, please give us the previously processed and barcoded folder with the article inside. The electronic version will be reactivated online.

| Copyright Restrictions:
If you assign the same articles or essays each time you teach a particular course, copyright law requires that a course pack of these articles be sold at the college bookstore. You should not use the library’s reserve system, WebCT, or post this material on a website. For more information about copyright restrictions, please consult Wheaton College Copyright Guide or speak to Lisa Richmond, College Librarian, x5101, Lisa.T.Richmond@wheaton.edu. For course pack assistance, please speak to Wyatt Waterman, x5325, Wyatt.W.Waterman@wheaton.edu.
